PAssion no Run

It was suppose to be the first run of the year but in the end it was a no show as I got up feeling really unwell, had a cough and the throat was dry and my tonsils were inflame again. Guess I have to look forward to the next event.

Running and the Virus

Well it seems that this H1N1 virus has event race organisers spooked. Next week is this years PAssion Run at East Coast, well I really havn't been running a lot these past few weeks I wanted to continue training for this event when I signed up a couple of months back but since signing up the old lame excuse of not enough time to get in some mileage took over. Anyways I collected my race bib and all the other stuff this week and in the FAQ section they actually said that the race maybe cancelled if the current Flu Alert level goes to Red. Well that's the first time in any event I've seen that they took such a measure.

The Bug - H1N1

So it seems this little bug has taken the world by Storm !! You know there is a problem when hospitals are all geared up like some space age movie with their mask and gowns. Contingency plans are in full swing even in the office where we were told to take daily temperature readings. I was trying to get a Thermometer over the weekend and the places that I visited all said they had SOLD OUT !!!! It's bad enough it was the May Day weekend so there was no delivery and it was a long weekend but finally today I managed to get a Thermometer. The Office has started screening of visitors and also the whole place smells of disinfectant. The cleaners must be real busy today. Guess everyone is going to live with a little inconvenience for the time being.
