HKH - Day 4

Final day in Hong Kong. Nothing much to do in the morning, got up had breakfast, finally a day where there was no rushing we return our Octopus Card from MTR to get our refund. Headed on down to get some last minute Mooncakes, rested a bit packed up everything and we were ready to check out. Now I am glad that we took up the Executive Floor promotion as that allowed us to check out (and we also checked in) on the 19th floor, the executive level. Besides having all day tea/coffee and drinks available, with light snacks thrown in for the afternoon and pre-dinner snacks. There is of course the use of the meeting rooms and business centres which wasn't much use to us. We also got free use of the internet which again this time wasn't much as we were out most of the time. The gym was open for use as well. Me and the missus have been going on holidays where we get to stay in the 'executive' area more comfortable and you can have breakfast in a separate area which is generally quieter. But more importantly it allows you to check in/out in relative comfort, because today there was a big rush at the main lobby to check out. I think it was some tour group and everyone was jam pack at the check out counter. Lucky for us we did not need to queue there. If you ever go on a holiday check out those offers for club rooms.

Got the bell-boy to bring down our bags which was now bursting at the seams. Waited for our airport transfer. And soon we were on our way to the airport. Arrived at the airport checked in and had lunch before boarding the plane. Bought some more stuff in the transit area.

Soon it was time to leave Hong Kong. I think it's a relatively nice city, good for shopping, weather's really hot, dusty in the city area and very crowded like Singapore. They need more trees. I think the airport design is really bad, it takes like forever for the plane to taxi tot he end of the runway for take off, same thing when we came, it took a very long time for the plane to get from the runway to the terminal building or maybe our plane was just parked the furthest from the runway. Soon we were up in the air. Had dinner on board special dish by Ah Yat, not bad the chicken rice.

On arrival in Singapore, I have no idea who the pilot was but it was a 'heavy' landing. From all the time that I have flown, never has there been a landing so heavy that I have experience in Singapore Changi International Airport before. Other airports maybe. But at Changi, it's normally a very slow long glide into the airport, which you hardly ever feel. Probably a rookie pilot or something.

There was a queue at the Immigration counter so I told the missus let's use the auto-gates it'll be faster. She reluctantly agreed. It was a breeze for me but somehow she gets stop and the system just would not read her thumbprint, she got caught in the gates and the Duty Officer had to open them up and clear her at the counter, still her print could not be read after some try she was finally cleared.

Ah it's good to be home, now's there's the matter of the unpacking to be done. So what's the final days shopping damage.
